Abseiling & Empress Canyon
Today we went abseiling and canyoning with a firm called "Hign 'n' Wild" - an absolutely thrilling experience! The first half of the day we did abseiling, starting with a three meter high block and building up to 30-meter cliffs during the morning.
After lunch we did a scenic fifteen minute walk to the start of the canyon. We waded into the creek that descends into the narrow-slot like canyon and within a few seconds we were jumping into a rock pool, the first of several jumps and swims. This canyon indeed was an exciting affair with water jumps, exhilarating swims, waterslides and a fantastic scenerey.
The final abseil out of the canyon is, according to the guides, one of the best waterfall abseils in the mountains. We cliped onto the rope, stepped back and followed a 30 metre waterfall down to the deep rock pool below - see the below picture.

Of course, the trip proved us with brilliant photo opportunities, but we still have not got USB access where we are staying, so you'll have to wait another couple of days before we bring you photographic evidence of our canyoning experience.
All in all, we had a fab day - we got both adrenaline and another great memory from this fantastic continent.
